I was overjoyed and so excited when Drew and Sarah of Sarah Street Photography contacted me for a couples session earlier this fall! I am always extremely humbled (and honestly a bit nervous) when other very talented professional photographers, such as Sarah, seek me out to take their portraits. Sarah is every bit as sweet as she is talented. She is also a fine art film aficionado, which means we got to discuss all things film during our time together. For our afternoon in the Hampton Roads area, we chose to spend time at the Nelson House in the ever so quaint historic area of Yorktown, Virginia. The Nelson House was built in 1730 & inhabited by Thomas Nelson, Jr. (one of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence). Although the weather was a little humid during our photo shoot, the light was absolutely luminous. The blooming pink dogwood flowers also went perfectly with Sarah’s gorgeous and flowing floral chiffon dress designed by Eliza J. All images were taken on Fuji 400h film with the Pentax 645n camera.
