Now booking 2017 & 2018 weddings!
I can’t even begin to describe how special this session is to me. In May I hosted a 1:1 film mentoring session with friend & fellow talented photographer Deanna of Deanna Casey Photography. When our previously scheduled model had to cancel, the beautiful and super sweet Molly of Molly Lichten Photography and her fiancé Josh stepped in to save the day! Everything happens for a reason. What also made this session super special is that Molly & Josh were recently engaged. Josh & Molly also shoot film, so all-in-all our collaboration consisted of 4 film photographers and one amazingly talented makeup artist. Thank you heaps to Noel of www.noelrissmiller.com for your gorgeous & ethereal makeup artistry!
I am continuously humbled and grateful for the opportunity to work with other talented artists here in the coastal Virginia area. This session took place in Historic Yorktown, Virginia at the Nelson House mansion. All images were taken with the Pentax 645n medium format film camera using Fuji 400h pro film. Images developed and scanned by Photovision Lab in Oregon.

It is cherry blossom season here in Virginia and in the surrounding Washington D.C. area! I had SO much fun taking the portraits of this super sweet and fun family. Little baby Violet was just TOO precious and was all smiles all afternoon! Most portraits were shot on the Pentax 645n medium format film camera with Fuji 400h pro film.
This soulful and beautiful couple invited me down to Norfolk, Virginia to take their maternity portraits. Katie is as beautiful as an angel and I had the best time getting to know them both and tour around in the artistic district of Norfolk. Katie is also a talented artist who designs artisanal/boutique gift boxes. You can view here beautiful work here at Bestow and Delight. Photos were taken with the Pentax 645n and the Canon 5D. It was quite an overcast day, so I shot Portra 400, Portra 800, overexposed the film and then pushed in development to achieve a brighter/airy look.
I still long for a white Christmas, but I do LOVE these Christmas-y blooms we get here in Coastal Virginia! I’ll take it…but I still want “some” snow too. (medium format film)
